HOA Fence Approval in Colorado Springs: How to Get It Right the First Time
Jul 4, 20265 min read

Every year we watch homeowners rip out a brand-new fence because the HOA rejected it after installation. Colorado Springs HOAs — Wolf Ranch, Briargate, Flying Horse, Banning Lewis Ranch, Meridian Ranch — each publish their own architectural review rules. Get approved before you dig.
The 5-piece packet every Colorado Springs HOA wants
- A plat map with the fence line drawn in and dimensions.
- Height, material and color spec — usually cedar natural or vinyl white/tan, max 6 feet.
- Gate locations and swing direction.
- A contractor's certificate of insurance.
- An adjacent-neighbor notification form (some HOAs require it).
The three most common denial reasons
- Height over the HOA cap (usually 6 ft in back, 4 ft in side yards).
- Wrong color stain — many HOAs require semi-transparent, not solid.
- Corner-lot setback ignored — most HOAs require the fence to sit 10–15 ft off the sidewalk.
How Big Blu's handles it
We fill out and submit the ARC packet for you on every install. Approval typically takes 10–21 days in Colorado Springs. We won't dig until it's stamped.
